Our team of artist’s and designers can paint your photograph on canvas in an Andy Warhol influenced style.

Warhol the “Pope of Pop” developed his pop style creating artwork of celebrities and brands. He became popular in the 1970s and painted such celebrities as Marilyn Monroe. Warhol primarily used Silkscreen methods with no trace of using the artist brush. His work’s were often painted very quickly, and would do a series of images for each subject. It was reported that when he was commissioned to paint artwork onto a BMW car it only took him 23 minutes and he used no practice model.

Blue Surf Art commission pop art paintings are influenced by the style of Warhol, but we undertake a very different production process. After receiving an order and photograph, we first design several proofs of the painting in our design studio on Apple Macs. Once we have several designs we then send them to our customers, once satisfied we begin painting the design. We hand paint the painting using oil paints on to high quality canvas. The whole process takes about 7-14 days, with the resulting work of art painted to the highest standard that our studio set out to achieve. While oil paints are very difficult to manage for the experienced, they give a quality that far exceeds any other method of painting or printing.
